Define your business

The starting point of marketing your business, product, or service starts by knowing yourself as a business (Business Self-Awareness). Who are you as a business? What problems do you solve? And why do people need your product and or service?

Answering such questions will allow you to have a clear vision of who you are. It will also help you Create your USP (Unique Selling Proposition.) and build your M. V. V. P. (Mission, Vision, Values, and Purpose.). Having a crystal clear vision and understanding of who you are as a business that will be the foundation of the starting point for your all business and marketing efforts.

If you are an existing business you can jump into doing a SWOT Analysis of your business. The SWOT Analysis consist of finding answers to the following questions:

  • Strengths (What are your Strengths?)

  • Weakness (What are your Weaknesses?)

  • Opportunities (What are your Opportunities?)

  • Threats (What are your Threats?)

Answering the following will give a better insight into your business and will allow you to better market and advertise your business.

The self-discovery of your business will always be a work in progress, but it is worth it to improve your business. Take a step further, do some research, and ask past customers for feedback. Your customers will feel their input is valued, and you can use their comments to better your business.

Closing thoughts…

Winston S. Churchill said… “It’s not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something.” I love this quote. For we should run our business with purpose and never deviate from it. Once, you have a clear vision of who you are as a business and the purpose of it you are now determined to live for something greater.
